Jim自幼学习钢琴，练习意大利歌剧十余年，是个音乐粉丝。所以在 talk(9)中，他将带着ipod和音响和大家一起欣赏和交流西方古典及流行音乐，以及介绍他所了解的美国的音乐教育. 

　　In the eight of this series of talks, we discuss Western music, music education, and music performance. How do young people learn music? What sort of training do their teachers have? In what kind of music performances will students participate? What is music like in the university? Where do people go to hear live music? How expensive are concerts in America? We'll all discuss the classical music scene in America, opera in America - which is very different from Beijing Opera - musical theatre, and Broadway. We'll also discuss popular forms of music in America.
