2017届中心毕业生讲话——Iman

Thanks Ms. Pan for giving me this chance to have a talk in this memorable ceremony. It gives me a great pleasure to welcome all guests and attendances in 2017 graduation ceremony.

First of all, --- I want to thank all the professors, teachers, staff and my colleagues in NanoCenter, for their hard work, their compassion, their motivation and their good senses of humor. --- I have really enjoyed working with them during these four years, and it’s not easy to say good-bye to these people and this place for me.

I remember when I arrived to Beijing in 2013, everything was new to me; I didn’t have any view about eastern countries, and everywhere I was a little bit confused. But I saw, I am not alone, and it’s the same for some other new foreigner students, even for some of them was worse. For example I could quickly get use to eat most of Chinese food but I had some friends that almost every day just ate the same dish in the same restaurant. But I still tried to adapt myself with the environment more and stop thinking here is different or there are some issues like language, difficulty in communication and so on. In this way, one advice from my supervisor (Prof. Hu ZhiYaun) was very helpful to me. He said that, try to get friendship with Chinese people and your colleagues then they will help you and make the life and work easier for you here. He was right; friendship with Chinese people brings me lots of benefits.

Through these years, I’ve gotten too much support from the people in NanoCenter, from my supervisor, from graduate students’ office and also from my colleagues and friends, therefore, I should respectfully say, thank you all 纳米中心人. We should never forget that, NanoCenter is simply one of the top institutions in the world with great leaders, nice teachers and facilitated system for education and research. Indeed, here is such a proper platform to achieve our goals for our future careers.

But before we can begin to reach our goals, there is one more personal milestone that we all need to mention about; the Life. Yes, Life. We all know that, life is a journey, (here I want to especially talk to graduated students) we should not stop growing once we get our degrees. To me, the life is always new, a day without learning and without having new experiences is just a waste. I should say that, you are big guys now; you have proved that you can deal with big challenges, and it leads cause that many people look at you heedfully. Each of our acts can significantly affects on people around us and accordingly on the society, so I personally try to use what I learned from here and what I learned from my whole life to make this planet a better place for myself, my family and for the humanity.

I am going to stop talking here; I talked too much and in some part maybe I crossed the red lines as your little brother. So forgive me please.

I wish all the best for all of you in your future career and also more importantly, your personal life.

Clap for yourself.
